The experience I wanted was not possible given circumstances, so I took matters into my own hands, and created my own journey of what it is like to be a student-athlete at an under-funded, small Division I athletics program.
The small, community atmosphere between student-athletes is the best thing. The campus provides athletics facilities within NYC, which is really cool.
Manhattan College athletics doesn’t have top tier programs, so you really have to be love your sport for your sport, not to win big competitions, get fancy things, or travel far across the country.
Actively listen to your student-athletes feedback, so that you can continuously grow and better yourself and your coaching styles.
